2009 Stallion Testing, Silver Creek Farm, Oklahoma

Above photo features the 30 day stallion test reserve champion 2005, Masterpiece, owned, trained and shown by Ken Borden. The 2009 70 day stallion testing is currently underway in Oklahoma at Silver Creek Farm. I am going to spend the final two weeks of the testing documenting the training phases and finale. At the 2005 testing I was just able to be there for the final two days, so having a two week time frame to document is should offer ample opportunity to capture these fine young animals showing their talents. If all goes as planned, I will be in Oklahoma from Nov 28- Dec 14th.

New Work Continues.

This will tbe the central piece presented in the Craft Expo. It is a 16x20 original and the medium is prismacolor wax color pencil on matte board. I am pleased with how it has come out. Hopefully others will appreciate it as well.

This year I have decided to get my act off the couch and take it to the Acadia Christmas Craft Expo which is held annually in Wolfville, Nova Scotia at the Acadia University Arena.

Dates and times are Nov 20. opening at 10 am and closing at 9 pm. Nov 21. opening at 10 am and closing at 6 pm. Nov 22. opening at 10 am and closing at 5 pm.

This has grown into a popular event and will offer a wide selection of crafts of all types. I will do my share to promote the horse and will be offering limited edition prints, samples of work (equestrian sport, and also images of the area), booking events for 2010, originals may be purchased, also a few practical horsey items. Try to stop by and enjoy the events. With the huge selection, I am sure you will find something to satisfy all your shopping needs.

It is promising to be a full weekend as the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay will arrive Friday, Nov 20th to the front lawn of University Hall on the Acadia Campus. Wolfvile is one of a select few communities where the Olympic Torch will stop for a community wide Olympic Celebration leading up to Vancouver 2010. It is anticipated that several thousand people will attend the Olympic Torch Relay ceremony and the organizing committee of the Darwin Event Group is ensuring the Craft Expo will benefit fully from the Olympic festivities. Let's see how it goes.

I am preparing for the grand event. If this should be productive, I will add at least one more craft show in the coming year to help promote the equestrian sport through art and photography. Wish us well and if available, please stop by.
